Pandi is receiving essential support!
By John Sparks | President, India Partners

Pandi is a new student at the computer system who comes from a remote village. She had completed her teacher training course, but since she did not get any job, she decided to study computers to better her chance of getting hired.
She is a person affected by polio and walks with a limp. The physiotherapist has advised that she should wear calipers. Because of your support, she will receive this life-changing tool!
She is quite timid and speaks softly. On a trip to the lake for boating, she started shivering as she had never seen so much of water in one place! She refused boating, but the staff slowly convinced her that with the life jacket and experienced boatmen, it is safe. She reluctantly agreed and came for boating with her eyes closed. But after that, when we went to the beach she started enjoying the water and the waves.
It is because of your generosity that students like Pandi gain the confidence, knowlege, and support to succeed! There are many more students with disabilites to support, and we're thankful you're joining us in the work left do be do.

Saravanan is learning life skills, thanks to you!
By John Sparks | President, India Partners

Saravanan is the second child in his family, where his father is a daily wage carpenter and is mother is a domestic helper. Saravanan was affected by Polio in his childhood and hence uses crutches for his mobility.
With much difficulty Saravanan completed his 12th grade in school in 2015 and sought admission in the computer course in 2015. Because of his lack of motivation, poor academic achievement and bare minimum ADL(Activities of Daily Living) skills, he was not given admission. When he applied again, we saw improvement in him, he was motivated, and his ADL skills had improved to the level that he can live independently in the hostel. So, he was admitted into the hostel.
Now, over a year into the program, Saravanan is learning computer and life skills that will open up opportunities for him to support himself. These improvements wouldn't be possible without your generosity! Thank you for changing lives.

Thank you for changing Surya's life!

Dear Friend,
I am so thankful for your generosity! Your gifts are making it possible for people with disabilites to succeed.
Surya is currerntly a computer student living in the hostel who has leg deformity due to Polio. He is intelligent and studies well, but he is very timid and self-conscious. He was very nervous when he first joined the computer training program and moved into the hostel.
Every month he would want to go home for the weekend and invariably he will not come back on Monday as planned. He would take a few days more leave just to stay at home with his mother, and we worried he might not come back to the program at all.
But there seems to be a slow change in him after joining the computer training program. He started responding in the theory classes. He enthusiastically participated in sports and was overjoyed when he won. He said, “It is a great feeling to win for the first time in a sporting event, thank you for the opportunity!” His confidence level also went up. And in March when he went home for the weekend, for the first time he came back as promised on Monday morning.
You changed Surya's life and gave him confidence to be himself! There are many other students with disabilites who need the same opportunity, and I hope you'll consider continuing changing lives.
Thank you again,
John
