Constructing another rainwater harvester

Installing another rainwater harvester
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation to provide communal hand-wash for schools. We are focusing on schools with very low water supply and are mostly dependent on rainwater by installing giant ferro-cement rainwater harvesters. So far we are the only organization who are expert in this and our harvester is proving to be of much use in the areas especially in Albuera Municipality where we are concentrating our work. This reporting period, we are able to construct 1 more harvester and with additional support from local sources.
Again, thank you very much for your generosity.
With deep gratitude,
Cora

Rainwater collector to support the hand-wash
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Warm greetings from Leyte and thank you very much for your continuing support to our project to provide hygiene solution via communal hand-wash for families affected by the typhoon. At present we are one of the only few local organizations left to provide continuing assistance. With dwindling support we have decided to team-up with the local Rotary Club in order to continue with our initiative. This time we are happy that we were able to engage the Rotary Club of Ormoc Bay and its partner the Rotary International in Malmo to provide rain water harvesting facility for general hygiene and to provide water to the installed hand-wash. This reporting period we are able to install 5 rain-water harvesters and 5 communal hand-wash in Albuera and Ormoc, Leyte.
Again, thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Training students proper sanitation and hygiene
Dear Friends,
Greetings from Leyte and thank you very much for your continuing support to our project to install communal hand-wash in schools. This project is indeed very effective in preventing the spread of diseases caused by unclean hands especially among school-children. In the schools where we have installed these handwash we found out that prevalence of diseases caused by unclean hands are marginal. Aside from installing the hand-wash we also train pupils and students the proper way to clean their hands using soap and water. During the training we emphasize the transfer of germs from the hands to the food and to the mouth and that this can easily be prevented by proper hand-washing. Our training is 20% classroom type and 80% practical and using the hand-wash that are operational already. This reporting period we were able to train a total of 340 pupils and students and their response is good.
Hoping for continuing support from you.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
