Installing another rainwater harvester
Dear Friends,
Greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation to provide communal hand-wash for students in typhoon-affected areas in Leyte. More organizations are interested in our hand-wash since these are robust, cheap and not easy to break. Our hand-wash has no faucets but water flows from drilled small holes. This reporting period we were able to install 3 hand-wash in 3 schools in Albuera, Leyte. Aside from the handwash, we were able to install 2 giant rainwater harvesters that stores 10,000 liters rainwater at a time. Great that we were able to get support from local organizations for the rainwater harvesters which is very much needed now that the rainy season is just starting. We are implementing this in barrios where water is scarce.
Again thank you very much for your kind support to this project.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Constructing another tank
Dear Friends,
Greetings and thank you very much for your generosity to support our project providing communal hand-wash to local population in Leyte. We do not only construct hand-wash but also giant 10,000 rainwater harvesters made of iron wires and cement. We found this very important because the hand-wash would not be able to function without water and especially in upland villages, water is difficult to fetch. Our tank is designed to store 10,000 liters and 1 tank can be constructed by a team of 3 expert masons in 5 days time. The tank as per our experience and visit to the ones we previously installed were really of great value to residents. They also said that it is easy to maintain and use. This period we were able to construct 3 tanks in 3 villages in Leyte.
Again thank you very much for your kind and continuing support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora Sayre

Constructing additional hand-wash
Dear Friend,
Greetings and thank you very much for your continuing support to our project to provide robust, communal hand-wash in schools here in Leyte. Aside from providing the hand-wash, we also conduct simple training on how to properly do hand-washing which is important especially for small children. We are doing the training via showing of video and letting the children practice it in actual. From our last report, we were able to construct 5 more hand-wash in 5 schools here. We are also glad to say that we might have some additional support for the installation of hand-wash in additional schools here from the local rotary club and other supporters. We added incremental improvement in the hand-wash by placing polyethylene pipe to catch waste water so it flows to the ground via a leach-pit and not muddy the feet of children.
Hoping for your continuing support to this project.
Again thank you very much and God bless!
Very sincerely yours,
Elmer
