Typhoon Haiyan Survivors' Food Security Project

Greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing food security for poor families here. This reporting period we concentrated our effort on giving gifts to children of very poor families living in the coastal barrio of Talisayan in Albuera. We make it a practice to give gifts during the holidays. We were able to provide food packs and toys to 120 kids and they were very happy. As the year starts, we aim to continue our vegetable gardening activities in order to provide sustainable food supply for poor families since vegetables provide them nutrition, food, income and a source of exercise.

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your support to our project providing food security to poor families affected by the typhoons. In previous activities we have here, we supported our beneficiaries with gardening inputs such as seeds, organic fertilizer and seedlings. They have repeatedly harvested already and some of them want to go into food selling in their neighborhoods in order to get valued added from their farm production. We are very happy about this development and so we provided them with the much-needed support so that they earn additional income. This is also beneficial especially for women who otherwise have nothing to do and stay home unproductive. This reporting period we are able to support 10 women starting their food business. Hoping we get more funds for this so that we will be able to expand.
