A Promising Future for Children In Medellin

Thanks to your valuable contribution, we have been able to achieve significant goals and make a meaningful impact in the lives of teenagers and their families.

We are pleased to inform you about the achievements reached during the year 2023:

Success in the "Meaningful Lives" Program: 29 teenagers successfully graduated from the "Meaningful Lives" program, and we are pleased to inform you that 21 of them will continue to participate in our vocational program during 2024. This program aims to provide them with information and tools for vocational decision-making through monthly workshops and business visits.

Protective and Welcoming Environment: The majority of teenagers perceive our headquarters, Corporación Pueblo de los Niños, as a protective and welcoming place, providing them with security and tranquility, like an "oasis". This perception also extends to some families, who make spontaneous visits to interact with our psychosocial team.

Participation in Artistic Workshops: We have achieved active participation in our artistic workshops, with up to 30 young people in Plastic Arts, 31 in Karate, and 22 in Urban Dance. These spaces promote learning and reinforce basic social skills, self-esteem, creativity, and teamwork, among other fundamental aspects for their integral development.

Awareness of Protective Factors in Adolescence: Awareness of "protective factors" among teenagers has been promoted, addressing topics such as self-esteem, self-care, emotional self-regulation, and responsible decision-making regarding their life project.

Support for Caregivers: The training workshops have also provided a space for caregivers to express their emotions and experiences, fostering a sense of group cohesion, solidarity, and belonging to the program.

Additional Educational Spaces: Various additional educational spaces have been offered, such as talks on facing changes, emotional management, sexual and reproductive rights, and practical courses such as cooking classes, thus expanding opportunities for learning and personal growth for teenagers.

Academic Reinforcement and Entrepreneurship: Academic reinforcement in mathematics and entrepreneurship workshops were provided for the mothers of the youth, aiming to strengthen their skills and capacities for productive work from home.

Queremos contarte que este año ha sido de grandes retos, aun así nos llena de alegría contarte que somos un espacio protector donde niños, niñas y adolescentes ocupan adecuadamente su tiempo libre, donde además establecemos alianzas que nos permiten ofrecer a ellos nuevas actividades. . . y otras maneras de ver el entorno, todo ello para que construyan su proyecto de vida, para que tengan esperanza en un futuro mejor.

En esta oportunidad les contamos que realizamos la Feria de la familia con un resultado satisfactorio, compartimos y tuvimos una mañana llena de alegría. Las familias adquirieron precios simbólicos en artículos para el hogar, ropa y alimentos.

Visitamos también la Compañía Nacional de Chocolates, empresa colombiana que nos llena de orgullo. Allí conocieron el proceso de producción de las chocolatinas, fue una dulce e inolvidable visita.
Ofrecimos un cine foro de la película Red, cuyo objetivo fue reflexionar sobre la importancia de un adecuado conocimiento y autogestión de las emociones y el papel de los padres en la educación de los hijos.

Gracias a ustedes que con su aporte contribuyente y permiten que seamos un espacio protector, al estar vinculados a la Corporación Pueblo de los Niños están alejados de la violencia.

We want to tell you that this year has been one of great challenges, yet it fills us with joy to tell you that we are a protective space where children and adolescents adequately occupy their free time, where we also establish alliances that allow us to offer them new activities. . . and other ways of seeing the environment, all so that they can build their life project, so that they have hope for a better future.

On this occasion we tell you that we held the Family Fair with a satisfactory result, we shared and had a morning full of joy. Families purchased symbolic prices for household items, clothing and food.

We also visited the National Chocolate Company, a Colombian company that fills us with pride. There they learned about the chocolate production process, it was a sweet and unforgettable visit.
We offered a cinema forum for the film Red, whose objective was to reflect on the importance of adequate knowledge and self-management of emotions and the role of parents in the education of their children.
