GlobalGiving Staff Report May 2022

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR ONGOING SUPPORT!

Along with the rest of the world, we realize that we are all tired of Covid-19. We were relieved and grateful that our SA President lifted the state of emergency and lockdown in early April. However, we are still mandated to wear masks indoors and at indoor gatherings, keep social distance indoors, and use hand sanitizer. Then at the end of April, we were informed that we may be heading towards a winter fifth wave. Our hope is that it will be mild.

All this continues to affect our occupancy numbers and our ability to pay our wonderful staff full time. The good news is that during 2022 our situation has been improving. Our numbers are increasing, and we now have a few bookings during the year from groups, that will increase our average income. We have five staff who are now back at full time, with the help of other people who pay them to work for them one day a week. We are getting there slowly but we are not yet there!

Your gifts also helped us to give each staff member an Easter gift card for a local supermarket.

Our staff greatly appreciate all your gifts, especially the medical and family emergency fund that is funded by your donations. They constantly ask for their thanks to be expressed to our donors on their behalf.

We are constantly working to ensure all of our staff can return to full time employment. We also hope to raise money to give staff a much needed increase, due to the sharp increases in the price of gas, food, and electricity this year. With your help, we can do this!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT AND ALL YOUR DONATIONS!
WE APPRECIATE YOU!
