Summary

This project will setup a permanent transformational creative learning Centre for the abandoned waste picker families' children in the slum of Guntur, India. This Centre will provides quality education to enhance children ability, confidence, learning levels and skills and also makes a part of formal school to ensure that they do not drop out from schools and to complete their education timely. And also will provide health care and daily nutritive meal to 50 waste pickers children.

Challenge

Waste pickers families have been living in damaged unprotected huts in a slum in Guntur city since 2010. Waste Picking and selling is the only source of income to their families. They are living in utter poverty with at risk of starvation and ill health. Children are not growing well as per their age without proper care and education. No minimal help from government. Children in these families almost negligible exposure to education and children are already engaged in working as waste picking.

Solution

To operates one creative learning Centre for waste picker families' children. This Centre facilitates good quality education that enhances children confidence, learning levels and skills. And admits them into formal schools to ensures to complete their education in time without dropout. And also takes care of the best health and proper growth of children with daily nutritive meal. Educates children and their families on life skills. This Centre operates 4 hours daily and 6 days in a week.

Long-Term Impact

This project provides education, health care and nutrition meal to 50 children from waste pickers families. Children become healthy growth and complete their schooling effectively to compete with other children in formal schools. children and their families would learnt timely life skills and education to become self sustainability and welfare. The established learning center will continuously working to taking care of all the children in the waste picker families to build best future.
