Namaste and Warm Greetings,
Dear Friends and Supporters,
BASS, India is delighted to share a heartening update on the progress of our Learning Centre for children from waste picker families in Guntur. This centre, dedicated to providing care, protection, and educational opportunities to 50 vulnerable children, has been a beacon of hope for the past two years.
Educational Impact and Transformation:
Our centre operates two daily sessions, guided by two dedicated teachers, fostering both academic excellence and essential life skills. We are thrilled to witness the children's consistent enthusiasm and bright smiles as they embrace learning.
A significant achievement this quarter is the successful integration of 40 children into local schools. Their improved attendance, active participation, and complete cessation of waste picking are a testament to the transformative power of education. The children's newfound confidence and their parents' unwavering support highlight the positive impact of our program.
The academic year 2024-25 is nearing its conclusion. We are confident that our students will excel in their final exams in April, based on their consistent progress in term assessments and their ability to compete effectively with their peers in mainstream schools.
Beyond academics, the centre provides vital nutritional support through daily breakfast and evening meals. Our teachers also deliver crucial life skills training to both children and their parents, empowering them to build a better future.
Community Engagement and Support:
This quarter saw vibrant celebrations of festivals like Christmas, New Year, and Sankranthi, fostering a sense of community and cultural awareness. We also organized engaging games and cultural activities, promoting holistic development.
In August, severe heavy rains devastated the region, flooding homes and damaging shelters. Responding promptly, BASS provided emergency relief kits to 40 severely affected families, offering immediate support during their time of crisis.
Financial Challenges and Appeal:
Despite the remarkable progress, we continue to face significant financial constraints. Operating on a budget of just $400 for this quarter, we have stretched every rupee to ensure the continuity of our services.
We urgently appeal for your generous support to sustain and expand our efforts. Your donation will directly impact the lives of these 50 promising children, providing them with the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future.
Your contribution is more than just a donation; it is an investment in their potential and a testament to your commitment to creating a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Thank you for your unwavering kindness and continued support.
Gratefully,
The BASS Learning Centre Team
