Dear Friends
Greetings from BASS Learning centre, Guntur, India
Thank you so much for your support to this project to operate a special creative learning centre for the waste picker families’ children in Guntur.
We are successfully initiating and operating this centre at Guntur especially for waste picker children. This centre is open in the morning with breakfast and evening after school program study hours and dinner. Two teachers are working in this centre to provide basic formal education and soft skills including life skills. Currently 50 children are attending this centre and accessing daily classes. With the great efforts of our two teachers, including Vijayakumari, volunteers succeeded in admitting 41 children into regular formal schools. Please see the list of the children in the attachment.
Due to waste picking of the families’ jobs and unhealthy living conditions at un-protected damaged huts, children become very weak and sick and also not interested in going to schools. And also the co children in the school differently look at these children because they look very unhealthy.
But with great efforts of our staff and volunteers for the last 7 months of success of this centre program children have become healthy and regularly attend schools and the co children are slowly mingling with them.
Children are slowly changing their behaviors, attitudes, dressing neatly, properly bathing, and becoming healthy looking.
Children are very happy to attend formal schools regularly and learn well in all subjects with the help of our two teachers in this centre.
Furthermore we are daily giving breakfast and evening dinner with your support and other local likeminded people support.
Children are also visiting parks to learn and get entertainment.
This learning centre is a basic need for the children to become the best citizens in the society.
We request you on behalf of children to kindly support the learning centre to operate continuously. To operate this centre at least $400 needed for a month to provide breakfast, dinner and staff remunerations for a month.
No one supportign this project please kindly make a donation at this time to this project and do support children in need.
Thank you
with gratitude
