Dear Friends and donors, Namaste!
Greetings and good wishes to you from BASS Learning centre for waste picker family’s children, Guntur
This learning centre is successfully operating for the past two years for 50 children who identify as child labour at slum in Guntur for the waste picker families living area. Most of the families depend upon collecting waste in the slums to survive. And the children also go along with the parents to collect the waste to add income to their families.
This project started a learning centre to prevent child labour and protect children and admitted to the regular formal schools. The learning centre operates in the morning from 7 am to 8.30 Am and evening 5 p.m. to 730 P.M. Two teachers are working here to care for the children and guide them for best behavior, teaching them in all class wise subjects and completing their homework. 40 Children are already admitted in local formal schools, the children's attendance is improved in local regular primary and high schools. And children are performing well in the regular schools. We are very happy that all the children stopped going for waste picking with their parents.
The academic year 2022 is successfully completed and regular schools are given summer holidays. All our children wrote their annual exams and are looking forward to making progress very soon. All children promoted to next classes. Still our learning centre continues even in summer holidays.
We are continuously providing daily breakfast in the morning and an evening meal to the children. We are giving nutrient Ragi Malt every day for best growth.
Total 40 children have become healthy, growing well and learning life skills with good behavior, best habits and formal education. Their parents are also happy to see changes in their children's growth and dignity and regular attendance in schools and our learning centre.
This project received only below 100$ during this quarter. We are very much difficult to operate the project with our other local support.
We humbly request you to kindly donate this project to continue to serve 50 children.
Thank you
With Gratitude
