Role of Social Enterprises - Community Development - Kole Intellectual Forum

On establishing that: social enterprises is becoming a trend in every society globally; Kole Intellectual Forum has considered to be an agent of change in its society and has significantly chosen to play a key role in seeing that, it brings about community development in its area of operation by tackling on how the organization can be of help to their vulnerable communities with the help of social enterprise.

With focus on a small community, the organization ensuring it is able to provide a sense of identity and confidence to the locals; the organization has set up a social enterprise of making up school uniform to the parents of the children in public schools at a reduce price; and every parent is attempting to response to it positively; a sign of transformation in public schools in Uganda where school uniform is not set as a condition by the administration of the schools; hence, for this case the parents are buying the uniform willingly.

Taking into the account that: the purpose of setting up social enterprise by Kole Intellectual Forum is to bring about a change in the society’s attitude and lifestyle to answer the said problem in the name of promoting quality education in public primary schools in Kole District, Northern Uganda

Staff Capacity Building: Kole Intellectual Forum

As our organization, Kole Intellectual Forum, enters into the new 2022 with its Big plan that was called for the organizational Commitment through the donations from the platform of GlobalGiving to build world's more modernized & high quality Institute of Home Economics lunched in 2021; link at: https://www.globalgiving.org/dy/v2/pe/project-appeal/edit.html?projectAppeal.id=6635

The organization in the first week of January 2022, in their annual general meeting; the members proposed and agreed to send their 3 staff for capacity building to the higher Institute of learning as one way to improve on their employees' knowledge, skills, understanding, values, attitude, motivation, and capability necessary to perform well at work as they are expecting the big plan to take-off either by February of March 2022; when the fund donated in December will be in the organization’s account.

The areas of staff capacity building identified for training the include:

• Certificate in fundraising – it will be facilitated through online program – one staff

• Certificate in Social Mobilization and Development – one staff – at Nsamizi Institute for social Development – Mpigi; but at Lira Campus

• Certificate in Agriculture – one person
