Dear Friend,
Education is a key element of women's empowerment. Girls who are educated are empowered with knowledge, self-confidence, and the ability to make informed decisions. In society, this plays a vital role in women's empowerment. Women must stand up for themselves, and live independently. It’s not just to put the girls in schools but to make sure they don’t leave before they should allowing learning and growing.
It enables them to challenge social norms, free themselves from the cycle of oppression in their community act as a change agent. In El Shaddai, we believe that society is empowering future generations and promoting sustainable development by investing in girl’s education. El Shaddai offers programmes and services that address the needs and problems of socially and economically underprivileged women and girls, preparing them for personal, professional, and financial success.
El Shaddai runs residential homes, daycare shelters and community centres for underprivileged women and children in Goa. These facilities provide them with a safe and nurturing environment, along with essential amenities such as food, clothing and shelter. We conduct empowerment programs that aim to uplift underprivileged women by providing them with resources, support and opportunities. These programs help to focus on enhancing their skills, confidence, and overall well-being.
El Shaddai advocates for the rights of underprivileged women and children, especially those from marginalized backgrounds. We as an organization work towards creating awareness, promoting inclusivity, and ensuring that their voices are heard.
Our four community Centres, help to give these girls and women to learn to take up a skill or even a job so that they are independent and are free to make decisions. El Shaddai has made a positive impact on the lives of underprivileged women in Goa, empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future for themselves and their families.
“I raise up my voice – not so that I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard... we cannot all succeed when held of us are held back.” - Malala Yousaifzai
One inspiring story is Sneha (name changed) is one of those who fell victim to physical, emotional and mental abuse by her father. She lived with her father. Her father left her. She had no shelter to stay. One day she was contacted by one of our outreach workers and got to know about our skill development program. She has also taken up stitching as a hobby. She also wishes to take this art form as her career and step out into a world full of hope and dreams.
El Shaddai has made a positive impact on the lives of underprivileged women in Goa, empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future for themselves and their families.
We are quite delighted to observe that many of the ladies and girls who took our courses are doing exceptionally well.
Many women, like them, have big ideas, ambitions, and a desire to be independent. We hope to assist many of these women and girls in identifying their true purpose and finding meaning in their lives.
With your support, we will be able to empower girls and women to contribute to a better society and affect positive change. When women are encouraged to reach their full potential, the positive changes they create for themselves extend across their families and communities.
I thank you all for your continuing support and unity in our efforts to effect change and empower women.
With gratitude,
El Shaddai family!
