Exam success for WHB
Exam success for WHB

I think we can safely say that the students of the World Heart Beat Music Academy have returned for the autumn with much enthusiasm for more exciting and enjoyable music making.  We are all delighted to be back!

Firstly, congratulations to all the Academy students that recently took their music exams.  We are so pleased that they all passed with flying colours!

In mid-September, it was a real pleasure to host the stunning Japanese Jazz Flautist, Erisa Ogawa, in a workshop and performance here at the Academy.  Our students were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a wonderful artist in what is the beginning of a long term friendship between us and a host of Japanese artists that will be coming in the future.

We are pleased to announce that this autumn has seen the launch of our new World Heart Beat Music Academy Orchestra - which is going from strength to strength every week.  Conducted by the awarding winning pianist, composer and arranger, Michael Csànyi-Wills, the Orchestra is currently working on the wonderful Brahms Hungarian Dance No 1 and "Theme & Variations on a Hungarian Theme" written and arranged especially for the Orchestra by Michael himself.  We're already very much looking forward to our first performance!

Practice makes perfect!

Rehearsals are also well underway for our big showcase concert which presents the Academy's flagship ensemble the 100-piece 51st State Band !  Directed by our Artistic Director, Sahana Gero, the talented Academy students, of all ages, will be performing live at Putney Arts Theatre SW15 6AW at 6:45pm and 8:30pm on Friday 17 November 2017.  We would love to have you with us and warmly invite you to come and experience a thrilling and uplifting evening of music! Please purchase your tickets via: www.ticketsource.co.uk/whb

Warmly invited to The 51st State Band

Thank you all so much for continuing to support us at World Heart Beat in making a difference to the lives of many young people who may otherwise have taken a different path in life.  Music provides them with focus, enjoyment, friendship and support and we would like to encourage you to continue your support by becoming a Friend and set up a monthly donation through GlobalGiving.
