Record-breaking year - thank you!

By Kurt Dahlin | Founder & President

So happy to have a WWFA water well!
So happy to have a WWFA water well!

You helped WWFA set a record for the highest number of water wells installed in our history!

In 2021, your favorite water-providing organization installed 65 water wells.

This means a minimum of 32,500 people have their first-ever clean and close water!

Thank you and wow – we hope you feel as good about that as we do. :-)

A great example of the joy you’ve helped spread is in Mbapi Wende Village. Please check out the photos we’ve attached to this email.

This was one of hardest to reach areas that your Water Wells for Africa (WWFA) team has visited. That’s one of our commitments -- making sure that we provide people with safe water regardless of the geographical setting.

In the photos below you’ll see Marita. First, she’s collecting water at their old source (and to get back home she has to trudge up a hill with a heavy bucket on her head!), and then you’ll see her looking very happy with the first borehole in her village that WWFA donors provided.

Looking Ahead

For our Malawi Team, the next step after installing a water well is to schedule the Community Based Maintenance training which we conduct along with the Malawi government. Due to the challenges caused by the pandemic, we not only have our 65 sites from 2021 to visit, but an additional 25 from the year before. Our Malawi Team will be very busy doing that along with presenting their Homemade Hygiene education course to the communities and encouraging them to plant trees around our boreholes in order to maintain the water table intact.

The team is also planning the installation of the next 10 water wells by visiting villages and schools to assess and verify their needs.

We’re very thankful for your partnership in ALL of these life-changing and life-saving efforts, and we look forward to doing more good work with you!
