Ewafe Project: Autumn Update 2024

By Andy Brown | Fundraising Manager

Ewafe - More Amazing Work and A Wonderful Story

  • There are now 84 children staying at the home receiving love, care and protection
  • 8 children have been reintegrated
  • community safeguarding officers’ meetings were held

Of the 8 integrations this quarter, 3 siblings were successfully placed with their aunt after being abandoned by their parents in May 2022 and referred to us by the police. While at the Ewafe home, they were well cared for—receiving shelter, clothing, education, nutritious meals, and counselling. Their behaviour improved, they made friends, and they were given leadership responsibilities. Two of the children also learned to play an instrument.

Before arriving at the Ewafe home, they had never had the opportunity to attend school. The education they received has been life-changing, especially learning to speak English. The children will now live with their aunt and continue their education. The family will also receive support through an income-generating activity, helping them meet their basic needs.
