RABIES is a viral neurological disease that causes acute encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) in warm-blooded animals including human beings. It is zoonotic (i.e., transmitted by animals), most commonly by bites from an infected animal but occasionally by other forms of contact also. Despite the development of the first rabies vaccine in 1885, the World Health Organization estimates that between 30,000 and 70,000 people die worldwide from rabies each year. Jivdaya Charitable Trust as a team assists various companies, organizations, and institutions to manage the stray dog vaccination program in a scientific and humane manner.
We had organized an Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad for stray dogs on 18th March 2021 (Thursday), as a part of the ‘Animal Care on Wheels’ community outreach program. This was an event to protect the lives of stray animals especially dogs who go through many hardships. This event promoted compassion, responsible, and safe living with stray animals. We have vaccinated around 17 street dogs on that day in the new campus of IIM, Ahmedabad. This event was organized with the main objective of establishing the key role of dog-feeders from the campus by responsibly participating in vaccination drives.
Dear Friends, Jivdaya Charitable Trust, cannot thank you enough for your assistance. Your genuine support keeps us on our feet to attend to every wildlife in need and deliver our best.
