Generous donor support this Winter has helped us prepare a discovery kit for Spring. In recognition of National Reading Month the Virgin Islands Children Museum will be distributing its 6th At Home Discovery Kit in March 2022.
By creating a Read to Feed themed At Home Discovery Kit the VICM and its partners aim to promote childhood literacy in a way that enhances food security for local families. We are establishing vendor partnerships that will allow kids to take part in a community youth reading program that rewards kids that read with food items from local restaurants, ice cream shops, etcetera. The Read to Feed Discovery Kit will include activity books, age appropriate reader books, bookmarks, program information cards, school supplies, and materials for a relevant arts and sciences activity.
We hope to distribute discovery kits territory wide through generous donations from the public via the ongoing GlobalGiving.org fundraising initiative: At Home Discovery Kits for VI Families (47832).
Thank you for helping us help kids Explore, Play, Discover, at home.
Sincerely,
The VICM Team
