Farewell to 2018 and Welcome to Class 34

By Abby | Project Leader / Alumna

Hello-

Greetings during the holidays! As 2018 draws to a close, THANK YOU for your support! You inspired another amazing year at Atlas Corps. You also helped to grow our community to more than 700 social change leaders from 89 countries.

Now, it is with great enthusiasm that we announce Atlas Corps Class 34. They will join us in late January 2019. Please join me in welcoming:

  • Abolaji Oluwatobi Omitogun, Nigeria, Making Cents International
  • Alisa Nesterenko, Russia, Eurasia Foundation
  • Bella Goldshtein, Russia, National Coalition Supporting Eurasian Jewry
  • Bisma Syed, Pakistan, Save the Children
  • Chris Chukwunyere Njoku, Nigeria, Susan G Komen
  • Ejaz Hussain, Pakistan, Worldreader
  • Iya Tikhomirova, Russia, UniversalGiving
  • Kiden Gladys Robert Isaiah, South Sudan, Street Sense Media
  • Mavra Zehra, Pakistan,Transparency and Accountability Initiative
  • Mohamed Abdimalik Abdiwahid, Somalia, Atlas Corps
  • Muhammad Ahsan Syed, Pakistan, United Nations Foundation
  • Papa Mamadou Camara, Senegal, Meridian International Center
  • Shrushti Runwal, India, Ashoka
  • Sungani Kufeyani, Malawi, Philanthropy University

As we think about welcoming Class 34, we also reflect on the past year. Overall, 2018 was an inspiring, yet challenging year. We engaged 82 new Fellows—including 52 women as part of our empower women globally theme in 2018 (60% of our Fellows are female!) and we partnered with 44 new Host. Our 700+ community of Fellows and Alumni are impacting thousands of people around the world. Yet, we’ve also been hit hard by cuts in government funding and unexpected expenses.

Will you continue your support for Atlas Corps? (Or give one last gift before the ball drops on December 31?)

If you believe in global engagement and if you want to support diverse social change leaders, then please invest in Atlas Corps today.

Thank you and Happy New Year!

-Abby
