Community Commitment: Engaging Stakeholders
By JACKSON AMEH | Project Leader
Lasting change requires collective action. In Makurdi, we will engage not only students and teachers but also parents, traditional leaders, and local authorities to create a shared commitment to safe education.
By establishing 20 peer-support clubs, training 100 teachers, and sensitizing 3,500 students, we lay the groundwork for a sustainable safeguarding culture. Community forums will ensure that everyone understands the importance of reporting, intervention, and emotional support.
Your support amplifies this community-wide effort—helping to institutionalize child protection, improve mental health outcomes, and foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Join us in creating a legacy of safety and wellbeing for Makurdi’s children. Together, we can set a new standard for education in Nigeria.

Championing Mental Health: Supporting Vulnerable
By JACKSON AMEH | Project Leader
Mental health is often overlooked in Nigerian schools, yet depression and anxiety are rising among adolescents exposed to violence and bullying (UNICEF, 2022). In Makurdi, many affected students develop PTSD symptoms—withdrawal, aggression, and academic decline.
Our project will provide psychosocial support to 150 vulnerable students, creating pathways for healing and resilience. Peer-support clubs will help destigmatize mental health challenges, encouraging students to seek help and support one another.
Teacher and counselor training will ensure early identification and intervention, while awareness campaigns will reach the entire school community.
Your donation supports this vital safety net, giving vulnerable students the tools and support they need to heal and thrive. Together, we can make mental health a priority in Makurdi’s schools.
