During the period under review, Camp for Peace Liberia conducted a one-day camping retreat to rural youths in Liberia. The program, which was the first of its kind in that part of Liberia, was embraced by the local leaders and attended by 30 youths from 12 satellite villages.

During the retreat, youths were taught on building and maintaining self-esteem, overcoming challenges during adversaries, building resilience, embracing diversity, and being tolerant of others. The retreat also strengthened youth knowledge and skills in reconciliation. Recreational activities, including sports, followed the indoor activities.

Speaking at the close of the retreat, the commissioner commended Camp for Peace Liberia and the donor for the initiative. He turned the effort into an innovative approach to building a strong social cohesion. "We need a similar program like this for our government officials and public servants. Such an initiative will open our eyes to see the good in others and embrace challenges as an opportunity," the commissioner exerted.

Another participant of the retreat had these words to say. "The one-day activity has taught me lessons that I would never learn in a year, even if I was in school. I am filled with practical knowledge in so many things to go back to my community and enlighten others".

Another participant said, "we will spread the news about camping in our school. I will recommend that the school make camping part of the extra curriculum activity of our school. I see that at camp, there is no separation or discrimination, no big or small, everyone is a teacher and a counselor."

A donor said, "Camp for Peace, thank you for the great job you are doing. Your inspiration is a blessing to the world, and we are glad that we were able to support, and you are executing real-life lessons and transforming people. Thank you"
