There is a great news that BANOJIBI/EcoVillage initiative has been shortlisted for Social Entrepreneurship Competition in Tourism https://socialtourismcompetition.com/initiatives-2022
BANOJIBI is a Bengali Word; the people who depend on their livelihoods on the forest resources called BANOJIBI. The BANOJIBI has been providing community-based tourism services such as cottage and dormitory service, arranging Sundarbans package trips, promoting local culture & heritage and mangrove-based products and integrated farming etc. Beside these organizing and supporting mangrove education and research activities. This is a collective initiative for Better Livelihoods and Nature. Our goal is to build an EcoVillage in order to Save Mangrove by rural reconstruction and ecosystem restoration through community-based ecotourism promotion and mangrove restoration.
