Fatmata in computer classes this summer

Dear Project Supporters,

We greatly appreciate your ongoing support for girls’ education in Sierra Leone. Thanks to you, more girls are getting the computer training they need for success in today's technology-driven environment, like Fatmata, pictured here.

Fatmata benefited from an eight-week computer course this summer. The computer course aimed to introduce basic computer skills at the Develop Africa Sierra Leone Computer Lab in Freetown.

The course covered two topics;

 1. Introduction to computer

This topic focused on the following subtopics:

  • Parts of computer: Keyboard, mouse, monitor, CPU, etc.
  • Types of computers
  • Components of computers

 2.  Introduction to Microsoft Word.

Basic Microsoft word skills such as typing, formatting text, etc. were covered.

Fatmata was very grateful to take the computer class and sent a video of thanks saying-

Hi, my name is Fatmata. I am a beneficiary of Develop Africa Sierra Leone. I'm enjoying my summer break. I made it to the next class. I am presently taking computer classes. Thank you very much for your support.
