Then & Now Report: Agnes's Journey of Resilience

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

Agnes Now
Agnes Now

 **Then:**

We introduced Agnes in 2013, her story embodies the struggles and resilience of many girls we aim to support. Born into poverty and orphaned at a young age, Agnes faced immense challenges as a young girl.  She grew up with her grandparents and endured the devastation of losing her possessions to a flood in 2013. Despite these hardships, Agnes remained determined to pursue her education. Because of your ongoing support, she found hope amidst adversity, ensuring she could continue her schooling and strive for a brighter future.

 **Now:**

At twenty-four years old, Agnes's spirit remains unbroken. Raised by her grandmother alongside her siblings, Agnes remains steadfast in her pursuit of a better life. She is enrolled in a vocational training program and is determined to graduate this year. Agnes's journey is a testament to her resilience and donor support, like yours, that enabled her to overcome obstacles and create a better future for herself.

The long-term impact of educating girls extends beyond individual success; educated women play vital roles in fostering health, well-being, and economic prosperity, making investments in girls' education essential for building thriving communities.

Every contribution, whether through monthly donations or one-time gifts, makes a meaningful difference in the lives of girls like Agnes.

Save the Date:  We invite you to join us in celebrating the power of small acts of generosity during GlobalGiving's Little by Little campaign, taking place from April 8th to 12th. Your donations of up to $50 during this special campaign will be matched by GlobalGiving at 50%, increasing the impact of your contribution.

For inquiries and donations, please contact us at GlobalGiving@developafrica.org.

Warmest regards,

Amy and the Develop Africa team
