Empower marginalized women and men in rural Kenya
Background
Since 2011, Action10, with the help of Human Rights & Science (HR&S), has been engaging and empowering marginalized people in Kenya's remote villages through the table banking model, which improves access to investment capital. This ensures that people, especially the poor, participate in economic activities that benefit both the person and society. As a result, these individuals are better equipped to combat poverty, maintain financial stability, and run profitable businesses.
Project updates
We are empowering our HR&S Branch Kenya to take advantage of our HR&S Management Strategy for Change, ROPE (Real-time Outcome Planning & Evaluation), because we are committed to ensuring sustainable impact. The new platform for information sharing and branch connectivity has been made available to all members of HR&S's Branch. HR&S Branch Kenya showing their engagement and effort by being extremely active on bi-monthly on-line meetings with HR&S Country Branches members and Action10 Volunteer Staff. The primary goal of the Amani Women Group (AWG), a community-based organization with official status, is to provide people with economic empowerment. The word "Amani" in Swahili means "peace." The Amani women's group was founded on this. Kenyan partners are overcoming challenges and achieving their goals through applying the ROPE management strategy.
