The Girl Child Foundation Uganda continues to make meaningful progress in helping vulnerable girls overcome barriers that prevent them from completing their education. In many rural communities, poverty remains one of the leading causes of school dropout and child marriage. Through this project, we are working to ensure that girls have the support they need to stay in school and pursue their dreams.
During this reporting period, educational support was provided to girls at risk of dropping out due to financial challenges. Scholarships, school supplies, and mentorship opportunities helped reduce the burden on families and encouraged girls to continue their studies. Many beneficiaries reported increased motivation and confidence as they received support from mentors who encouraged them to remain focused on their education.
Community outreach activities also played a significant role in addressing the underlying causes of child marriage. Parents and caregivers participated in discussions about the long-term benefits of educating girls and the negative consequences of early marriage. These engagements helped strengthen community support for girls' education and inspired families to prioritize learning.
In addition, girls participated in life-skills sessions that focused on leadership, decision-making, and personal development. These activities equipped them with practical skills to navigate challenges and make informed choices about their futures.
We are grateful to our donors and supporters whose generosity continues to open doors for girls in rural Uganda. Together, we are breaking barriers, creating opportunities, and helping girls remain in school where they can thrive and achieve their full potential.
