End Early Child Marriage in rural Uganda

Every educational opportunity can transform a girl's future. Through this project, The Girl Child Foundation Uganda continues to provide support that enables vulnerable girls to remain in school, build confidence, and pursue their aspirations.

During this reporting period, scholarships and school supplies helped girls overcome financial barriers that often contribute to school dropout and child marriage. With access to essential educational resources, beneficiaries were able to attend classes consistently and focus on their studies.

Mentorship programs played an equally important role in supporting girls' development. Through regular guidance and encouragement, mentors helped participants identify their strengths, set personal goals, and develop a positive outlook for the future. These relationships continue to inspire girls to believe in their potential and remain committed to their education.

The project also facilitated life-skills training sessions covering leadership, communication, and decision-making. These activities equipped girls with practical tools to navigate challenges and make informed choices about their lives.

Community outreach remained a key strategy for creating supportive environments. Parents and local leaders participated in awareness sessions highlighting the importance of girls' education and the risks associated with child marriage. As a result, more families are recognizing the value of keeping girls in school.

The impact of these combined efforts is evident in the growing confidence and determination of participating girls. We are grateful to our donors whose generosity is transforming lives through opportunity and helping young women build brighter futures filled with hope and possibility.

Sustainable change happens when communities take ownership of protecting and empowering their children. Through this project, The Girl Child Foundation Uganda continues to engage local leaders as champions for girls' education and advocates against child marriage.

This reporting period focused on strengthening partnerships with community leaders, religious leaders, and other influential stakeholders. Through workshops and dialogue sessions, participants discussed the impact of child marriage on education, health, and community development. These engagements encouraged leaders to actively promote girls' rights and support educational opportunities for vulnerable children.

Many leaders committed to raising awareness within their communities and encouraging parents to prioritize education. Their voices carry significant influence and are helping shift attitudes toward practices that have historically limited opportunities for girls.

At the same time, the project continued providing scholarships, school supplies, and mentorship to girls facing economic and social challenges. These interventions helped improve school attendance and motivated beneficiaries to remain focused on their education.

Life-skills training further empowered girls with knowledge and confidence to pursue their goals. Participants gained valuable skills in leadership, communication, and personal development, preparing them for future success.

The collaboration between local leaders, families, schools, and girls themselves is creating a stronger foundation for lasting change. Communities are becoming more supportive of girls' education and more committed to preventing child marriage.
