Dear Supporters, Friends and Family of Serendipity Healthcare Foundation,
As part of our on going campaign to reduce the prevalence of malaria in our rural community in Madobi, Kano; we distributed 50 Insecticide treated nets to women and children in Madobi and also trained them on the importance of sleeping under the Insecticde Treated Nets.
A cause of concern to us however is the recent report from Al-Jazeera last week Tuesday of a case of Zika Virus found in Cape Verde Island off the coast of Senegal in West Africa which is not too far from Nigeria; This virus is said to be carried by a particular type of Mosquito and thus this prompted us to seek for audience with the Kano State government to raise awareness and more intervention on their part to reduce the prevalence of malaria vectors in the local councils.
Meanwhile, we have started a campaign to enlighten communities on the need to sleep under Insecticide Treated Nets and the importance for Pregnant Women to attend ante natal to prevent any unforeseen incidences.
We would appreciate your continuos support, and any advice on how to help us on this our project especially on preventive measures to end malaria in Madobi; you can follow us on twitter @serendipityHea1, like our facebook page on /serenhealthcare, LinkedIn/samirahfaruk or via email serenhealthcare@gmail.com to know more about our work.
Best,
Fatima Lawani
