Dear SHF Supporters,

From the last time we sent a report to you,we had gained entry visit into the community where there was reported cases of deaths of children between the ages of 2 years to 5years (5 to every 10 reported cases). During the recent visit we had a talk with the District head, Religious Leader, Women Association and the community based organisation about the importance of cleanliness of the environment, proper storage of water, cleaning of gutters, declutter of household items to prevent further breeding ground for the malaria vector. We also discussed with the local governing council to strengthen the waste disposal system timeline, insecticide spraying of the environment and first line drugs for pregnant women in the first trimester.

Although we are yet to receive donations from you our supporters online, we have been able to gather some funds from local individuals but we know that you have supported us in various ways through advice, referrals to friends and family and we solicit for your continuos support.

We organised a workshop for 157 women and men on home management of malaria, how to keep the environment clean, proper storage of water, the importance of sleeping under insecticide treated nets for community members in order for us to spread the impact of our project of helping to curb the spread of malaria.

Our next line of activity is to train 50 women only on how to prevent the malaria vector, first aid treatment on malaria and what to do when the doctor is not around, distribution of Insecticide treated nets and first line drugs to pregnant women.

We ask that you donate to our cause to help us on reducing the spread of malaria vector in Madobi Community and saving the lives of those vulnerable children in need. A great way of doing this is in the month of May as such as bonus day on the 7th where funds will be matched, Mothers Day on the 11th as a tribute to our dear Mothers.
