Dear Friends, Family and Supporters of Serendipity,

1 child dies every minute from complications of malaria and this is as a result of bad sanitation which serves as a breeding ground for malaria vectors and lack of sleeping under Insecticide Treated Nets.

Our target beneficiaries are children under the age of five and pregnant women as they are the most vulnerable. We work in rural communities to supply these Insecticde Treated Nets because they are the least thought of in development policies.

There are three effective ways of eradicating Malaria in our communities and we at Serendipity concerntrate on supply of these Insecticide Treated Nets to reduce malaria incidences among women and children, Radio Campaigns to educate them on the need for good sanitary conditions, which we did on World Malaria Day on Freedom Radio here in Kano Nigeria in the local language for wider coverage and understanding.

We have thus far supplied over 500 ITNS in four local governing council of Gezawa, Madobi, Gadan and recently Tarauni where 20 women were gived ITNS. Data collected showed a remarkable improvement in the usage of ITNS and in a reduction of malaria related cases in the out patient department in the primary healthcare centers.

We intend to increase our supply of ITNS to two additional local governing councils in kano, run radio campaigns on malaria and diagnose for malaria using rapid diagnostic test kits and first line drugs administered in the event of any child or woman testing positive.

Thank you for supporting us all through the years and appreciation the confidence reposed in us to make changes for the better in our communities.

Best Regards,

Samirah Faruk
