Jayson, fellow of our Leadership Program, is the 1st and 3rd year teacher at Simón Bolívar Elementary School. Since the beginning of the school year (2020), the adaptation of their classes and the creation of different projects focused on different areas such as Mathematics and Communication have allowed their students to adapt and learn in a more dynamic and efficient way, achieving good results in their grades and development. .
To continue creating learning spaces that are attractive to students, Jayson contacted his colleague Sonia, who is also part of the Leadership Program in the Junin region. He suggested to her that they should carry out a joint project focused on misinformation issues, which is very important especially in times like these. Both fellows were very enthusiastic about creating spaces where students from both schools can share knowledge.
After several meetings, the “Willaq” (a quechua word) initiative was born, which means "The one who warns", the project is based on combating misinformation. There have been several weeks of meetings between the students where Jayson has been really surprised by the contributions of all them.
Both fellows have realized that joint action can generate wonderful results.
