Due to the global pandemic and natural disasters, the 2020 - 2021 school year has certainly been a challenging one for students in central Vietnam. But with the support and friendship of donors like you, PeaceTrees was able to provide immediate emergency relief and essential disease prevention supplies such as masks, digital thermometers, hand sanitizer and mobile sinks.
To celebrate the end of the school year, PeaceTrees staff visited each of our 19 kindergartens, and gifted the students with school supplies and treats for next year! 232 students graduated from our kindergartens and are moving on to the first grade. We hope you will join us in celebrating the end of the school year and the start of a new chapter for these dedicated students!
PeaceTrees Vietnam is also thrilled to announce the opening of Cua Kindergarten! The 32 school-age children of Cua Village will now have access to a safe learning environment and receive a healthy and nutritious meal every day. With your partnership, PeaceTrees can further support the next generation of Vietnam's leaders and expand our area of impact as we continue to address the legacy of war.

Even in the face of a global pandemic and devastating flooding, PeaceTrees’ EOD teams have remained highly effective at removing unexploded ordnance. Currently, PeaceTrees has 122 deminers working in the field everyday to ensure communities can live in a space free of dangerous ordnance. At the end of 2020, our teams were able to clear a total of 3.3 MILLION square meters!
We are also excited to announce the groundbreaking of Ooc Kindergarten! This is PeaceTrees’ 19th kindergarten and our second school in Quang Binh Province. The 29 school-age children in Ooc Village will now have access to early childhood education. We hope to welcome them in the upcoming school year! Because of your support, PeaceTrees will expand our kindergarten projects and many other critical programs.
As PeaceTrees Vietnam enters our 26th year, we hope that you renew your commitment so that this important work can continue. . Together –with your support – we can help break the cycle of poverty and provide immediate assistance to communities living in danger because of the legacy of war.

The Academic School Year has Officially Started!

School has officially started! With COVID-19 largely contained, we welcomed students back to our 18 kindergartens in central Vietnam in early September. PeaceTrees Vietnam has numerous prevention measures in place to ensure that the children are learning in a safe and healthy environment.
We are also excited to announce the completion and opening of a new Prin Thanh Kindergarten classroom! Doors opened for the first time this year and the new classroom ensures that all 60 kindergarteners in the community now have access to an early childhood education. It is with your continued support and generosity that we are able to continue funding new kindergarten projects.
Unfortunately we must also share that Central Vietnam is currently coping with the aftermath of devastating storms and flooding. More than 130,000 Quang Tri residents are directly impacted by the floods and many communities remain inaccessible by road because of high water and landslides. The presence of explosive remnants of war—which can shift and become exposed during floods—further increases risk to those whose lives and livelihoods are already impacted. Thanks to donors like you, PeaceTrees is providing immediate emergency relief to those who were severely affected by the storms.
On behalf of all of us at PeaceTrees Vietnam, thank you for your commitment and support. Your endless generosity continues to help rebuild the lands and lives affected by the legacies of war. Your donations make it possible for us to continue to expand our kindergarten programs and provide opportunities for children across Quang Tri and Quang Binh Province!
