Food Baskets for Displaced Families

Amid the harsh humanitarian conditions Syrians have endured for years, our team continues to implement the food basket distribution project in several regions across Syria. The initiative aims to provide a minimum level of food security for families that have lost their livelihoods and rely heavily on humanitarian aid for survival.
The food baskets include essential items such as flour, rice, bulgur, sugar, cooking oil, chickpeas, beans, and pasta. Each basket is designed to sustain an average family for up to four weeks, helping reduce the heavy burden of daily living.
Our distribution team selected beneficiaries based on clear criteria, prioritizing displaced families, widows, and households with elderly individuals or patients unable to work. Organized distribution points were set up within communities to ensure fair, transparent, and accessible aid delivery.
Smiles reappear on the faces of beneficiary families despite their suffering. To them, a food basket is more than just supplies—it is a message that the world has not forgotten them.

In northern Syria, where millions of displaced families live in camps lacking the most basic necessities, food baskets have become a lifeline. With economic collapse, soaring prices, and declining international aid, securing daily meals has become a painful struggle. Children wait in long lines under harsh weather for a simple meal, while mothers do everything they can to feed their families.

To respond to this deepening crisis, Saed Charity launched a large-scale distribution of food baskets to the poorest and most vulnerable families. The baskets included essential items such as rice, flour, oil, lentils, beans, pasta, sugar, and canned goods. Deliveries reached camps across rural Idlib, rural Aleppo, and other hard-to-access areas due to damaged roads and security challenges.

The impact was immediate. Mothers expressed relief after weeks of being unable to secure enough food, and children were overjoyed to have warm meals return to their tables. Many families shared that the baskets provided up to three weeks of stability, easing the burden of hunger and restoring a sense of safety.

Yet the need remains overwhelming. Thousands of families are still waiting for assistance, and as Syria’s crisis persists, donor support remains the only hope for providing food to those who have lost everything.
