The Be Enriched team along with our partners Feeding Britain and Jan Kattein Architects have been hard at work to get the Wandsworth Food Bus project underway!
In January we took a trip to Essex to scope out the bus and determine if it met our needs for the project. We are pleased to say the bus has been purchased and is in the process of being refitted with a ULEZ-compliant engine. When that's ready, the makeover process can begin to turn the bus into the greengrocer and cafe of our dreams.
The Be Enriched team also took a trip to Liverpool and Birkenhead earlier this month to visit with a few similar projects - a mobile fruit and veg minibus, a social supermarket and a community market and cafe. While there were some key differences in these projects to our own, we made some good contacts and have lots of ideas for what we can implement into our project.
