our sponsorship helps these children have a sustainable life. Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. It also includes having access to drinking water, healthy foods and beverages, clean and safe environment, appropriate clothes, healthcare, mental stimulation, access to the outdoors, and loving relationships. Education is vital to breaking the cycle of poverty but school in Uganda is not free. As a Child Sponsor, you will make a huge difference in the life of vulnerable child by giving them the gift of education.
his is a hereditary disease in which red blood cells take on a very sickle-like shape and, as a result, cannot perform all their functions as they should. Although it is widespread throughout the world, 80% of people with this disease live in sub-Saharan Africa, where the condition is often not diagnosed until it manifests its most severe symptoms.
After two years of the pandemic, we have well understood how the presence of comorbidities exponentially increases the lethality of the virus. In a context such as Africa, where millions and millions of people suffer from chronic diseases that are often not properly treated, this trend is made even worse.
Chronic diseases in Africa are a major cause for concern for the pandemic's progress, greatly increasing the average mortality rate.
