ADRIJUS

Currently, the Mothers' Union Foundation cares for as many as five children with a rare eye malignancy, retinoblastoma, who are being treated by doctors in another country.
I tell a lot about our children being treated at the clinics in Lausanne, Switzerland, because all of their travels and access to health depended and depended on good, compassionate people who understand that restored child health will return in the future with a healthy, hard-working, beneficial country.
I also say that in order to understand how extraordinary their travels are, each treatment result is achieved, even if it is very slow and barely noticeable.
Probably one of the most difficult and difficult trips to the clinics of Lausanne is overcome by Adrijus and his mother Deimante every second year.
The greatest happiness is that Adrius sees what we just dreamed of at the beginning of the boy’s illness.
However, his parents ’vision and anxiety about Adria’s health became a real challenge every time he prepared for a trip to the doctors.
Adria’s mother’s vision is so poor that with a pandemic and many additional travel requirements, traveling alone with a child to a distant country has become extremely difficult. Adrija's mother does not complain, patiently endures all the inconveniences, awkward situations caused by poor eyesight and sometimes people's unwillingness, indifference to help.
Fortunately, however, there are far more good and wonderful people in the world who are ready to help.
Let Adrija's mother Deimante tell about her experience and people's kindness, and let us wish hope and strength to the boy and his mother, because there is very little left until victory, because Adrijus sees the faces of his mother, father, good, healthy people more and more every day:
"We will soon be on another trip, which will hopefully be a success, and now I will share the impressions of the previous trip.
Traveling this time was not easy, there was a lot of tension and anxiety, but I will start everything in a row.
Problems have already begun in preparation for the trip. The question arose where to do a test in Switzerland, whether I found a way to get there and the like. we flew through the Netherlands, so the test had to be done in Lithuania first. I needed the two of them. One 72 hours before and the other 4 hours before the flight. (It's good to be able to take tests at the airport and get a response in 30 minutes.)
Of course, I also didn't know at the airport where to take those tests, I thought someone from the staff could accompany us, but I got the answer that we can't accompany us because you didn't check in for the flight and you don't have an assistant. Well, what, I had to look for a point and Thank God - I found, of course I would have asked passers-by, I think I would have shown. Test Answer was negative - we could fly.
The flight was almost smooth, only allowing to Amsterdam, the Adriatic angry, for the first time. The assistant escorted us to the medical center, but the doctor assured us that this was nothing serious. Apparently the biscuits were too much to eat before the flight.
We were in Switzerland very late, immediately lying down to sleep as we awaited the day of the procedures. The procedure itself went well. The doctor said he did not receive any treatment and the vision was great. But the story of covid tests is not over.
Since a covid test was required when returning to Lithuania, it had to be performed in Switzerland. So, before I went to Switzerland, I registered for a test near the hospital, but unfortunately I did not find that point, and no one could accompany me. (At the time, I felt frustrated that I couldn’t find something because of my poor eyesight and sometimes needed help. I don’t really like asking for help because I don’t want to be dependent on others.) The answer had to be in the evening and we had a flight early in the morning. I didn’t get the result in the evening because I didn’t manage to test my sample. Thanks to Juirgita, who helps us in Switzerland, she checked in early in the morning to take a test at Geneva airport. I slept maybe 3 hours because we got up early. I managed to take the test at the airport, by the way, I got the test results from the hospital when we were on the plane.
Most importantly, everything ended well. The whole flight back I was afraid of that
Adria would not be angry, but this did not happen either.
Regards! Thanks for reading for your interest. Adrius will be grateful to you in the future. "
We are grateful to all of whom, thanks to all the children cared for and cared for by the Mother’s Union Foundation, who have recovered and suffered from rare eye malignancy oncology, are successfully recovering.
