Expanded to Acopampa-Ancash, in the Andes of Peru!

We have amazing news to share! We expanded to more areas in Peru!

As we mentioned  in a previous report we wanted to enter the Acopampa district in the province of Carhuaz, Department of Ancash in Peru. Acopampa is a town in the Andes with a population of roughly 3000 people who live below the poverty line and are far from nearby cities. It is estimated that there are over a thousand dogs and cats in the whole town roaming the streets. This includes a mix of strays and pets from locals, as it is part of the culture for pets to stay outside.

Reaching this area is very challenging due to the distance from large cities, difficult to access communities, and lack of veterinarians. We worked for months to recruit veterinarians and campaign organizers on the field to make this possible.

And we made it!!! We’re more than happy to announce that we have fixed 126 dogs and cats in the last three months.

We plan to conduct one neuter/spay campaign monthly to have the bandwidth to care for the animals during post-surgery recovery before the next campaign. This is projected to have all town animals fixed in two years. Through this project, we can truly impact the quality of life for these animals and prevent many more animals from suffering on the streets in the upcoming years.

See some pictures of our neuter/spay campaigns in Acopampa.

Please consider supporting our mission again so we can continue helping these communities in Peru. Also if it's not too much to ask, please help us share our campaign with your friends and family. Thank you so much for believing in our mission and your continuous support
