Internship programs are a great way of getting a glimpse of the
real world work even before getting into the real world!
Exceptional performance by Tuticorin school students got them
the opportunity to attend the 'Inspire Internship Science Camp'
conducted by the Department of Science and Technology of the
Government of India.
The program was held at V. O Chidambaram College for 4 days.
The students stayed in the college hostel and attended the camp.
The first day started with a Chemistry class. Later, Mr. Myilsamy
Annadurai, Director of ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC), Bangalore
took a session on space. ISRO, the Indian Space Research
Organization, has had many successes including successful
launch of Mangalyan.
Mr. Annadurai shared information about the past programs at ISRO.
He explained the concept "Innovation + Crazy ideas = Systematic
innovation". Classes were conducted every day in subjects like
physics, chemistry, botany, geology, and zoology. Lecturers from
all over India taught the students.
In the afternoons, practicals and experiments were conducted.
One of the days, the students were taken to the Science Centre
to collect more ideas. The camp ended with a culturals on the last
day.
The students had a great time, learning and working together!
Certicates were issued to the students for their participation.
