Books are the tools for creative thinking, language skills
enhancement and more. Easy access to books help develop
reading habit among the students.
As students need to be exposed to many variety of books,
a visit to a book fair would do a lot of good to the students!
NLC (Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd) organised a book fair
in Neyveli starting 1st July. Cuddalore School arranged a trip
to this far for their students. The students were accompanied
by the Principal, teachers and admin staff.
For many students this was their first experience of attending
a book fair and they were surprised to see endless rows of books
under one roof! They curiously visited all the stalls, browsing
through the books. Many students bought books too on their
savings money.
Kirubasri of 7th grade shares her experience :
"We snatched an opportunity to visit the famous book fair held
at Neyveli. We were in high spirit to view the treasure of knowledge
and once they landed at the book fair they swarmed busily at the
stalls. The stalls resembled a beautiful garden of knowledge where
we buzzed around like butterflies to drink the nectar of knowledge.
It was an excellent collection of books involving fiction, poems,
intelligent quotient guides, autobiographies, scientific models, charts
etc. We purchased books and commented happily that our quest for
knowledge ended here. Books were given by concession and we
never had the heart to depart!"
