Nearly 30 supporters from Bangalore visited Vanavasi school on
16th April. Since the students were busy with their term exams,
the school Principal took them for a tour of the school. He explained
about facilities like CAL (Computer Aided Lab) class, Math lab, and
Magic English classes. Verandah activities, which are unique style
of providing learning opportunities at Isha Vidhya was also discussed.
Isha Vidhya's unique teaching methodology is always of interest with
visitors. School Principal explained the nuances of the program and
the impact of features like activity based learning, themed teaching
in lower classed etc.
The volunteers interacted with the students and also visited them in
the classrooms. The joyous atmosphere could not escape their notice.
They also had lunch at the school.
By end of the visit, every one expressed their delight at the school
and the students.
Shares Salem (Vanavasi) school Principal Anthuvan :
"The volunteers' interest and contribution to the smooth functioning of
Isha Vidhya has tremendous effect in the growth of each child in the
school. I have been interacting with the volunteers from Bangalore
for past 3 years and in every way, be it increase in the number of
volunteers visiting the school and their participation in the fund rising
programmes and preparing learning materials for our children are
amazing!
During their visit they show so much interest in interacting with our
students and getting to know the methodologies that are being
implemented for the development of the children!"
The Vanavasi school is around 200 kilometers from the Bangalore city.
It's really motivating for the students to have their supporters visit
from a nearby city and interact with them on a regular basis. Likewise,
it's a great feeling for the supporters to meet the children who are
impacted by the volunteer work that they do.
