People to People Annual Report 2025- January 2026

By Sylivia Nambalirwa | Board Coordinator PTP

GlobalGiving Progress Report derived from our annual report activities (2025–January 2026)

In the early mornings at Al-Junaynah and the highlands of Jebel Marra, families displaced by conflict line up quietly, holding ration cards and hope in equal measure. For many, the arrival of our team marked the first time in weeks that they would have reliable food, clean water, or basic household items. This is the reality our project responds to, and the reason your support continues to matter.

Between June 2025 and January 2026, our organization implemented life-saving food, non-food, and renewable energy interventions across some of the most hard-to-reach IDP camps and host communities in Sudan, including West Darfur, Jebel Marra, Nile State, and Zalingei. With GlobalGiving donation support, we reached over 1,250 displaced families with food assistance alone, alongside essential non-food items such as bedding, children’s clothing, cleaning tools, and water supplies.

One story that stands out is from Sabaga IDP Camp in Jebel Marra, where 250 families received food rations in December 2025. Many households are female-headed, caring for young children and elderly relatives. A mother of five shared that before the distribution, her family survived on one small meal a day. After receiving food support, she was able to feed her children twice daily and reserve time to seek small income-generating work within the camp. For her, food assistance was not only nourishment, it was dignity and stability.

Beyond food, the project addressed daily survival gaps that often go unseen. In Golo and Zalingei, families received cleaning tools and hygiene items, improving sanitation and reducing health risks in overcrowded camps. In Al-Duwaym, Nile State, children displaced by conflict received clothing, restoring warmth, confidence, and a sense of normalcy.

A key innovation during this period was the solar system installation in Nertity Town, Jebel Marra. This intervention provided reliable, renewable energy to a community that had long relied on unsafe alternatives. Solar lighting now supports night-time safety, small businesses, and community activities, demonstrating how humanitarian response can also build resilience and long-term recovery.

What makes this project strong is not only the number of families reached, but how resources were used efficiently, transparently, and in direct response to community-identified needs. Local volunteers and leaders were involved at every stage, from targeting to distribution, ensuring accountability and trust. Each delivery was monitored and documented, and lessons learned are already shaping improved targeting and logistics for the next phase.

As we look ahead, needs remain urgent. Displacement continues, food prices rise, and climate shocks add pressure on already vulnerable families. Continued donor support will allow us to scale distributions, expand renewable energy solutions, and strengthen protection-focused assistance, particularly for women and children.

Your partnership has helped turn compassion into action. With your continued support, we can move from emergency relief toward recovery, ensuring that families not only survive, but begin to rebuild their lives.
