The year 2015, within the framework of the Project "Making profitable the boat of Glenn Paige School" we were able :
- To equip our boat with life vests. These life vests are securing our various asset traveler traveling from one center to another on Lake Tanganyika. Lake Tanganyika is one of the largest lakes of Africa with 67 km long, 72 km wide and an area of 32,900 km2;
- The petrol reserve that allows us to travel at low cost over long distances mainly in Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania.
The sailor Byaombe spoke :”Nous assurons de voyages sûrs le lac” ; french sentence that means "We ensure safe trips on the lake".
We continue to use our 55 horse engine. However, through this project, we are building up sufficient funds to purchase a new machine more powerful 75 horsepower and more suited to demanding traffic on Lake Tanganyika.
We are proud that our boat provides for the essential needs of our school and receives our care and attention.
At the end of 2015, we wish to thank our donors who supported and trusted us. Our thanks also go to Global Giving Foundation who accepted our project. Sincerely, we are grateful.
To all, we wish a happy 2016 full of success, joy, peace, and health.
