BEDS (Bangladesh Environment and Development Society) is seriously concerned on mangrove restoration and protection and has been conducting community based mangrove plantation and restoration since 2013.Currently, the organization is raising fund from GlobalGiving platform to restore mangroves in the Sundarbans periphery. Target grant of the proposed project is 100,000 $ and so far, 1,667 $ is raised from 115 donations.
In this month (September 2020) we have planted 500 more mangroves at Munshigonj Union under Shyamnagar sub district of Satkhira district of Bangladesh engaging the students and villagers. We provided motivation to the students and direct them how to plant the mangroves. We were aware of the COVID-19 situation and maintained social distancing while planting the mangrove. After the plantation, we provided them motivation again to take care of the planted mangrove saplings. The participants responded positively and assured to protect their planted mangroves.
We are enormously grateful to all the donors for their support for us so far. We believe that all our donors will be continuously standing beside us for the protection of nature and saving the coastal lives.
