Eid comes with the feeling of joy, of family and family gathering together, of food laden tables with gifts and new clothes. Throughout the world Muslims celebrate Eid after the fasting month of Ramadan and it an occasion celebrated by all. .
However, this is not the case for so many who can’t afford a decent meal on the day of Eid let alone new clothes. It is tragic to learn that there are so many who are not familiar with the idea of new clothes and the good food because they simply don’t expect to have it.
For all Muslims, especially children the concept of Eid is filled with lots of excitement and anticipation. It is in the spirit of Islamic traditions and also natural to wish to wear new clothes on such occasion. It is very disheartening to see that not all children have the luxury to afford new clothes on Eid.
Fatima Memorial Hospital introduced an outreach program according to which the Hospital is running the NUR Foundation Schools where 1850 students are educated; these students belong to poor families who cannot afford an education but they do have dreams of a brighter future.
We will humbly request everyone reading this to play their part in helping us get new kids for all the students who study in our schools for this special occasion.
Every child deserves a smile and you can make it happen
