While your daughter twirls and swirls around in her customized fairy frock, do not forget the little girl covered in dirty rags. While your son shows off his suite by Little Marc Jacobs, do not forget the child walking barefoot in the scorching sun of June. With Eid-ul-Azha approaching soon, the shopping for new clothes is yet to begin. Before you shop, I would like you to pause for a while and think about the essence of Eid-ul-Azha. The first thought that strikes one’s mind is “sacrifice”. But is it just the sacrifice of an animal? If you think deeper, it is the sacrifice of something which is valuable to you. So this Eid-ul-Azha, along with the animal which is of value to you, try to sacrifice a little more! Try to sacrifice a little bit of spending done on lavish clothing and use that bit to buy clothes for the underprivileged children.
According to Pakistan Economic Survey 2017-2018, around 24.3% of the population of Pakistan is living below the poverty line which means that the mentioned percentage is unable to afford the basic necessities of life like food, clothing and shelter. NUR Foundation while maintaining its aim of being socially responsible not only provides education to the underprivileged but also provides clothes to the needy. Provision of apparel to the needy shall help provide relief to the vicious cycle of poverty. However, due to a rising number of poor in the society, NUR Foundation needs more donors. Hence, we request our esteemed donors to be a shoe on the feet which would otherwise burn while walking on the withering roads of summer and a piece of clothing on a body which would otherwise be covered in rags.
Hence, when you go out for shopping on the coming Eid-ul-Azha (also known as the Eid of Sacrifice), keep the suffering of the indigent community in mind. Envisioning the fate of such children sends chills down our spine. Therefore, it is high time that we all join hands to support this cause of providing apparel items to the destitute.
We look forward to your generous donations.
Thank you!
