This is our final report for Transforming Community for Social Change's project "Peacemaking with Samburu Warriors in Kenya." We have been able to raise only $2779 of the $5,000 we needed for the project. Since we are having difficulty raising the needed additional funds, we are terminating the project at this time. If new sources or other needs concerning working with the Samburu Warriors arise, we will launch a new project.
We the funds we did receive, under the leadership of Ezra Kigondu, TCSC was able to organize a peacemaking group of Samburu warriors in each of the three sub-counties of Samburu County. TCSC was then able to train them in Alternative to Violence, a non-violent method of resolving conflicts peacefully. The funds were also able to have the local leader of the project, Simon, to receive advanced training in the Healing and Rebuilding Our Community program held in Musanze, Rwanda.
