Drinking Water Tanks installation

Despite the pandemic, Sumando Manos Foundation continues to work in solidarity within the areas of critical need in Argentina.

The Local Communities in Salta, Chaco and Misiones are facing many challenges of all kinds, but the most important one is access to clean and safe drinking water. There is hardly any rainfall, which brings about a drought, so the families depend on the water provided by the municipality.

With your help! Sumando Manos Foundation will purchase, deliverer and install thirteen (13) 1000 liter tanks in 13 schools we regularly sponsor. With this action, we will help at least 600 students. The schools to sponsored in this campaign are as follows: es:

From now on, when it rains, the tanks can be used to collect rain water and save it for future use and, in the event of a drought, the municipality can fill up the tanks and the families will avoid having to travel long distances for water.

For this reason, we are starting this campaign to raise US$ 5,200 to buy, transport, and install the tanks which will benefit more than 600 children.

We need your help to provide a solution to this sad reality.

We continue sending donations to schools in different provinces: Misiones, Tucuman, Chaco and Corrientes.

With the help of Pequeños Pasos Organization, we have sent:

-School 373/01 “Guillermo Donaire” in Paraje El Boton, El Soberbio, Misiones: bags of food items for all the children and their families.

Through Sai Organization we provided food and classes in education on Human Values to:

Soup Kitchen Las Talitas, in Las Talitas, Tucuman
Center for children with cancer in Misiones

We completed the shipment of food items for lunch/breakfast for:

School 409 in Campo La Aurora, General San Martin, Chaco.

We sent fabrics, kitchen utensils, school supplies, and disinfectants to:

- School 632, Esquina, Corrientes, Corrientes
- School 373/01, El Soberbio, Misiones
- Schools in Chaco: 97- 98 – 239 – 371 – 409 - 552 – 616 – 741 – 1015

* Project integral farm “Don José Coria” in school #371 "Ernesto Ocampo", Villa Berthet, Chaco:

The building of the farm is coming to an end and we hope to be able to announce the completion of the project and share some photographs in our next newsletter.

We continue to bring help to programs and schools in our network, and we’d like to share the progress of the last 2 months.

BREAKFAST AND FOOD PROGRAM - DELIVERY OF ITEMS FOR SCHOOLS AND FOOD PROGRAMS IN SEVERAL AREAS OF THE COUNTRY.

We’ve restarted food shipments for breakfast and / or lunch to the following schools. For many schools, this is the only food children receive on a daily basis.

- Soup kitchens in Ushuaia and Buenos Aires:The Pequeños Pasos Foundation intensified the delivery of food and nutritional support and training continued via Zoom.

- Soup kitchens in Salta and Santa Fe: the Sai Foundation continued distributing food, without interruption in pandemic times (when allowed), healthy snacks have been combined with educational activities on Human Values and the distribution of clothing and footwear.

INTEGRAL FARM PROJECT “DON JOSE CORIA” AT SCHOOL # 371 "ERNESTO OCAMPO", VILLA BERTHET. Director: Marcelo Petrak

Construction for the integral farm has begun; this farm will help generate the necessary elements for the school kitchen and dining hall. Any leftovers will be sold among parents, neighbors and the local market in order for the school to achieve economic independence. The goal is to raise hens and chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, dairy cows and the production of compost. We anticipate the inauguration of the farm to happen during the month of August.

FANDA PROJECT FOR DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING: We delivered 180 batteries for children with hearing loss at the FANDA Foundation, serving children in low income families.

As always, thank you very much for the constant support because without it we would not be able to carry out any of the projects we are currently working on.
