Help Rebuild Forests That Protect Communities

By Umam Hadinata | Project Staff

ndonesia is at a critical environmental turning point. In 2024 alone, more than 261,000 hectares of forest disappeared—an area nearly four times the size of Singapore lost in just one year. Over the past decade, 4.5 million hectares of primary rainforest—around 11% of Indonesia’s most vital ecosystems—have vanished. This loss has intensified flash floods, landslides, and the disappearance of clean water sources, directly affecting millions of people.

Indonesia’s forests, often called the “Lungs of the World,” are essential for regulating climate, protecting biodiversity, and sustaining local livelihoods. When forests are destroyed, communities living nearby become the most exposed to climate-related disasters, food insecurity, and environmental degradation.

By supporting tree planting and forest restoration, you help rebuild forests that protect communities. Your donation restores degraded land, safeguards unique biodiversity in regions such as Kalimantan and Papua, and empowers local communities to become long-term stewards of their forests.
