Plant 40,000 Trees In Northern Rwanda

Dear Patrons,

Happy World Environment Day! World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5 June and encourages awareness and action for the protection of the environment. We are so happy to thank you very much for all the support that you have provided so far for our Rwanda forestation project.
Recently in Rwanda, we have been affected by the consequences of climate change where the floods were caused by the heavy rain on 2 and May 2023 in Northern Western, and Southern provinces, and this disaster left thousands of families without shelter, food, and other basic life. 130 deaths in that week and more than 5,000 homes were destroyed (figures as of 4th May 2023). We are so privileged for the support to the Plant 40,000 Trees In Northern Rwanda project. We know there are a lot of other ways you could have spent this money, so we feel privileged that you chose to invest in our Rwanda forestation project.

Since the beginning of the Plant 40,000 Trees In Northern Rwanda project, we have planted more than 30,000 trees in Northern part of Rwanda. As we have completed Tree planting activities for more than 30,000 trees, we are currently busy with maintenance and also we need to do fencing of the land because we want to protect the lands in which the trees are planted from animals like goats, cows, and sheep, as well as from the disturbances caused by humans.
We request you to donate generously to our project so that we can keep working and achieve our goals. You could also consider doing a monthly recurring donation for our project, which will help us with our ongoing work. The link for the monthly recurring donation is mentioned below in the report.

We are so happy to thank you very much for all the support that you have provided so far for our Rwanda forestation project.

We are so excited to share with you the progress of trees planted that are growing well at land six, at location Rwanda: 724+ CHC Mugambazi (Google Plus code). In this land we have planted in total 28500 trees of eucalyptus (See attached photos). Thank you very much for your generous donations through GlobalGiving to Plant 40,000 Trees In Northern Rwanda. Your donation helps ensure we can continue helping our community, so thank you!

We know there are a lot of other ways you could have spent this money, so we feel privileged that you chose to invest in our Rwanda forestation project.
We’ll keep sending you an update through GlobalGiving three or four times a year to tell you about the impact you’ve made. We take this opportunity also to thank all students from Muyanza and Burega Primary school for their valuable and active participation in this forestation project. At the beginning of September 2023, we are planning to plant additional trees in land 7, students will participate and will play important role in the tree planting activities ( photos and videos will be shared with you.

Rwandan Youth Development and Voluntary organization (RWAYDAVO) Volunteers and project workers will help in digging holes deep enough to cover the tree's root ball and to put the organic fertilizer. Then a student will be removing the root-ball from the container and place the tree in the hole and RWAYDAVO leaders will ensure that the activities are happening as planned.

As we have completed Tree planting activities for land 6, we will fence the land because we want to protect the land in which the trees are planted from animals like goats, cows, and sheep, as well as from the disturbances caused by humans. After all these activities we will do close follow-up and maintenance.
