Dear Patron,
We are pleased to share an important update on our 50,000 Trees Planting Project in Rulindo District, Rwanda. Thanks to your continued generosity, we have successfully established our tree nursery, where thousands of saplings are now growing and being prepared for planting.
Nursery Location
Our nursery is located in Burega Sector, close to Buyoga Sector in Rulindo District.
The exact coordinates are:
Latitude: -1.7102845
Longitude: 30.0274603
Plus Code: 72QG+VXP Buyoga
This strategic location offers reliable access to water, close proximity to participating communities, and easy transport to our initial planting area. The first photo includes a Google Maps pin to ensure full transparency.
We would like to clarify that the 5 hectares mentioned earlier refer to the first phase of our planting plan. This is the initial land area where the saplings from our nursery will be transplanted. Preparation of this plot is already underway, forming the foundation in our journey toward planting all 50,000 trees across multiple phases.
1. Nursery Location Pin – Google Maps
The first image shows the precise site of our nursery marked on Google Maps, allowing you to verify exactly where the project activities are happening.
2. Community Members Caring for Seedlings
The second image highlights the daily work inside the nursery:
A team member waters seedlings arranged in neat rows.
Another tends to saplings in nursery bags.
A shade structure protects the young plants from excessive sunlight.
These photos reflect the strong community engagement and dedication behind each seedling.
Nursery Progress & Ongoing Activities
Over 50,000 saplings are currently being raised.
Volunteers and youth provide daily watering, shading, and maintenance.
The nursery is positioned close to the 5-hectare planting site for easy movement of saplings.
Schools and community groups continue to participate in nursery care and will join planting events.
We remain committed to ongoing land preparation, seedling care, community mobilization, and environmental education as part of our long-term activities.
Why This Project Matters
Starting with the first 5 hectares and expanding toward 50,000 trees, this project will:
Improve nutrition and food security;
Restore soil fertility and reduce erosion;
Create future income opportunities from woodlots and fruit trees;
Strengthen climate resilience in the region;
Promote community volunteerism and unity;
Inspire environmental education among youth.
This nursery marks an important beginning for long-term environmental restoration and community transformation in Burega and Buyoga.
We are deeply grateful for your support. Your generosity is already creating visible impact on the ground. As we continue with these activities, your partnership remains essential. If you are able, please consider becoming a recurring monthly donor to help sustain this work.
With gratitude,
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
President, RWAYDAVO
