Clean water thanks to you!

By Benedicto Hosea | Project Leader

Our local partner Mboni ya Vijana receives financial supports to undertake water wells scheme for the need community in Kigoma region. It often has the very long list of the communities in serious need of water however we deliver effective service (water well drilling with installation of water pump) in accordance with available resources.

Many communities walk up to 3.5km to collect unclean and unsafe water from the ponds where water was shared with insects, animals and other creatures. After the borehole completion, the community gets clean water for drinking from it and get to the pond for animals and clothes wash water. Tumaini is the native to one such community says, “It was very risk to our (community) children to walk 3km in bushes to collect water from an open pond. They were likely to get any of the accidents due to the real water collection environments. We shared water with animals and other creatures, for sure we were living like other animals before the borehole at our village. Now the 760 families of 3640 get clean water from safe and well protected borehole. We thank Mboni ya Vijana and all the people who made this project complete” she finished.

Kasulu District Education Officer (Mr. Kitumu) is the governmental officer who cannot hide his feeling to the educational improvement contributed by the pupils’ access to water from the boreholes withing the schools area. “General results of the national Examination sat in October 2023, Kasulu District Council has moved from 4th position to 2nd position out of 8 councils of Kigoma region. The performance has gone to 96% from 74 and 81 of the previous two years. This progress is contributed by water boreholes to our schools done by Mboni ya Vijana and their partners. These have been poorly performing schools in national exams but since they got water this year they have tremendous performances ever. I kindly appreciate educational supporters Mboni ya Vijana been and example in education development in Kigoma region through water service. I have allocated the budget to three schools for best toilet and wash rooms because they now have water” He finished.

Mboni ya Vijana is pleased with the achievement which is getting with the community of Kigoma Tanzania which are associated with the donations from our friends from the developed countries especially from Network Change. This kind of support, is appreciated and request for further cause of impact to poor families in rural areas in Tanzania.

With gratitude, Benedicto
